New Zealand Designer Merino

Merino is finally being given the recognition it deserves in the fashion world, but it is still not appreciated for its seasonal flexibility and its application to the spring and summer seasons.  I live in hot and sunny Gisborne, and spend six weeks on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world where temperatures are often in the 30s, yet even here I find I am often reaching for a merino garment, whether it be a camisole, a basic top or a flattering cardi or overlay. Why? Being a natural fibre, it breathes, being warm when it needs to be, but almost as if it has its own in built thermostat, cools to fit the temperature of the moment. And as any ‘hot flush’ lady knows, regardless of the temperature fluctuations of the day, merino can handle our own ‘thermostat hissy fits’ making these flushes as pleasant as they can be!
